FIRE MARSHAL/WARDEN CERTIFICATE COURSE

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, delegates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of:

  • The procedures to be followed in the event of fire
  • The principles of combustion
  • Basic fire prevention
  • Arson prevention
  • Personal protection
  • Movement in smoke
  • Evacuation procedures and the control of personnel

COURSE CONTENT

  • Basic duties of the fire marshal/warden
  • The fire Triangle
  • Heat transfer
  • Common sources of fire
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Fire exits, emergency exit routes, signs
  • Emergency lighting & fire alarms
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Practical extinguisher discharges

TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is designed for individuals who have been designated as a fire marshal or fire warden and have specific duties towards fire prevention and evacuation.

PRE-COURSE PREPARATION

Wherever possible Live-Fire practical fire extinguisher demonstrations will be carried out outside following a suitable risk assessment therefore delegates are advised to bring suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.

CERTIFICATION

Delegates successully completeing the course including carrying out practical techniques will receive a certificate of attendance.
