AIMS & OBJECTIVES

This course is designed as a refresher course for contractors working on food processing/manufacturing sites who have an existing Safety Passport nearing expiration

COURSE CONTENT

CORE (AM session)

• Organising for safety – legal duties, risk assessment, consultation and enforcement
• The Workplace – general workplace rules and procedures, including fire and emergency
• Tools, plant and machinery – general workplace rules and procedures
• Health and Hygiene – including hazardous substances, manual handling, noise, stress etc
• The Environment – including pollution and waste

FOOD & DRINK SESSION (PM)

• Food Protection - including food contamination, safe working practices, reporting of illnesses, hygiene systems and legal requirements
• Environmental Protection - including environmental damage and pollution and waste disposal
• Health and Safety - general overview of hazards and risk

TARGET AUDIENCE

Managers and employees of contractors already holding a valid Safety Passport that needs renewing.  (This can be completed up to 6 months prior, or no longer than 3 months after the expiry of the original pass date)
