EMERGENCY FIRE AND FIRST AID COURSE

AIMS & OBJECTIVES
To provide participants with theoretical and practical knowledge to assist them if/when faced with fire or first aid situations.
COURSE CONTENT
This one-day course is split into two halves covering fire and first aid respectively. Both halves of the course include theoretical and practical sessions.
First aid training
Basic theoretical training including:
- Introduction and legislation
- Response plan and contacting emergency services
- Resuscitation & CPR
- Obstructions
- First aid kit, contents and the accident book
- Wounds and bleeding
- Burns
- Fractures
- Unconsciousness - causes and treatment
Practical session:
Delegates are required to carry out resuscitation techniques and demonstrate the recovery position.
Fire training
Basic theoretical training including:
- Legal requirements
- Causes of fire and the fire triangle
- Fire prevention and procedures
- Role of fire warden
- Fire extinguishers and other fire equipment
- Fire emergency procedures
Practical session:
Conducted outside, where delegates obtain practical use of a fire extinguisher by extinguishing a controlled fire.

CERTIFICATION
Delegates successfully completing the course including carrying out practical techniques will receive a training certificate.
