FIRE SAFETY
Every year people are killed and injured in fires at work, and the financial consequences of fire can be devastating, with some companies never recovering. It makes good sense therefore to protect your staff and your business from fire. Legally under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 the vast majority of business premises must have had a suitable Fire Risk Assessment conducted, and employers must ensure that their employees are provided with adequate safety training.
SMTS offer an excellent range of Fire Safety services including a omprehensive Fire Risk Assessment service and a suite of fire safety training courses that give flexibility to suit the needs of your business. Please click on the following links for more information:

» Fire Marshall & Warden Certificate Course (1/2 day)
» Practical Fire Safety Awareness Course (1/2 day)
» Emergency Fire and First Aid Course (1 day)
This selection of courses covers a wide variety of fire safety training requirements. SMTS is a nationally recognised training provider in the delivery of Fire Safety with all our trainers being professionally qualified and highly experienced. Our fire courses are a combination of theoretical and practical sessions designed to enhance knowledge and practical confidence. Fire safety training courses are advertised nationally or can be run in-house to suit your needs, as long as suitable facilities are available.
Fire Marshall/Warden Certificate Course – this course is designed for individuals who have been designated as a fire marshall or fire warden and have specific duties towards fire prevention and evacuation. Wherever possible live-fire practical fire extinguisher demonstrations will be carried out outside, following a suitable fire safety risk assessment. This will give delegates the opportunity to learn about the different types of fire extinguisher and how to use them correctly and safely. The course will also give an insight into fire regulations and general fire precautions. Delegates who successfully complete the course, including carrying out practical techniques, will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
Practical Fire Safety Awareness Course – this course is a practical and theoretical course designed for those personnel who require “initial” and/or “refresher” training in fire-fighting and evacuation techniques. Wherever possible live-fire practical fire extinguisher demonstrations will be carried out outside, following a suitable fire safety risk assessment. The course is designed to give personnel the information, knowledge and training for them to be competent in basic fire safety. Delegates who successfully complete the course, including carrying out practical techniques, will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
This half day course can also be expanded into a one day Emergency Fire and First Aid Course which will include all of the above fire safety elements combined with half a day of basic first aid training too. This will include theoretical and practical elements, including CPR and recovery position techniques. Delegates who successfully complete the course, including carrying out practical techniques, will be issued with a training certificate.
